Sharron Ward – Producer

Sharron Ward is a New Zealand-born/UK based multi award-winning Director/Producer with credits for the BBC, MTV and VH1 amongst others.  She has made short films for the BBC on Globalisation, Human Rights, Eastern & Western politics and makes observational documentaries about social issues, human rights abuses & current affairs.  Her most recent films are “Cannes in a Van”, an observational documentary about guerilla film promoters at the 60th Cannes Film Festival – which premiered at the Short Film Corner, Festival de Cannes 2008; and “Facing the Dragon”, an observed documentary on crack and heroin addicts detoxing in a Buddhist monastery in Thailand.

Sharron also makes PSAs, branded content and campaigns for social issues and was awarded the 1997 New Zealand AIDS Foundation Media Award for her World AIDS Day PSA.  She set up Katalyst Productions to make films about people and politics that matter.

Jawed Taiman – Director
Jawed Taiman was born in Kandahar, Afghanistan and divides his time between London & Kabul.  Jawed made his first short non-fiction film “Zendan” (“Prison”) in Afghanistan about Allam, a teacher who secretly educated girls in his home in Kabul.  It was Broadcast on Tapesh TV in the USA and was awarded Best Short Film, at EICAR Film School, Paris 2006.  “Zendan” also screened at the Short Film Corner Cannes 2007.  “Addicted in Afghanistan” is his first documentary.  Jawed previously also worked as a Producer/Reporter for Voice of America in Kabul.

Jason Brooks – Offline Editor

Jason is a freelance camera operator, editor and documentary film maker. Having gained an M.A. in Visual Anthropology from Goldsmiths College, London & a B.A. in Visual Antropology from Princeton University, Jason has filmed documentaries all over the world including Romania, Jerusalem, Palestine and Sudan.   He is a highly proficient editor and is collaborating with Katalyst Productions on a number of upcoming feature length documentaries.
